The following shows the lineage of Isaac Brewer, which I believe to be accurate, beginning with his earliest paternal ancestors. Abbreviations were used to denote places of birth/marriage/residence, death etc. A list appears at below the following.

I used to assume that George Brewer's father was John Brewer III which then connects our line to quite a few additional previous generations, but this connection has been proven to be false. So, until I have more information, I will stop there as far as listing Isaac's direct ancestral line here.
LANIER LINE
For most of these families, I do not know much of anything about the lineage of the women. However, we do have some information on the line of Sarah Lanier (1686-1728) and so I will give that here:

Nicholas Lanier was a French Huguenot. Queen Catherine de Medici arranged safe passed for him to England to escape the persecution in France, where he was one of the king's musicians, in 1561. There he became a member of the Church of England, as required. The queen ordered him to married Lucreese Bassano, whose family were Jews from Italy, and he was a musician for the royal court. His family would continue in this capacity for three generations. Lucretia/Lucreece Bassano was the daughter of Anthony Bassano (son of Hieronimo/Jeronimo Bassano) and Elina D Nazzi.
** John Lanier Sr and his wife Lucreece were transported by Howell Pryce from England to Virginia in April of 1656 along their infant son John Lanier Jr. He was later sent by men on the south side of the James River to petition Governor Berkeley about defending them against the Indians in the area. He was a rebel in the famous Bacon's Rebellion, being a go-between with the governor.

Note - Isaac stated that he raised 7 children as well as 2 orphans not kin to him. 3 of these 7 children are not known. The 2 orphans were Littlebury and Elizabeth Whitecotton. Some believe that Isaac's first wife was Elizabeth "Betsy" Strong. I do not. I believe it was his cousin, Isaac, of a similar age that was married to her.
