Elizabeth had an old family bible in which she wrote dates of family members' births.  I don't know who has it though.

Info from <http://www.electricscotland.com/history/america/donna/picturebook/170171.htm>
"When Elizabeth Ann was young her hair was dark auburn, long with natural curl. She had a sweet voice and her grandchildren remembered her walking up to their houses singing hymns. She came from town where she got off the train. One grandchild, now over ninety, remembers her as having a gentle personality, being always happy and pleasant. Another grandchild remembers her as stern and a disciplinarian. Her fragile old letters Bellzona saved show her to be a caring person, interested in her children, grandchildren and in-laws. She was a healthy person and continued supporting her children emotionally, until her death. She visited first one and then the other, and stayed in communication by mail. Her letters were usually short, one page comments directed to the whole family, written with wide apart lines. Some comment would be made as to someone having been killed in the war, or some other current event in her area. The stationery was marked with a red rose. Bellzona saved the letters, and when Lee, her son died, Velma, his wife, passed them on to his children.

During her absence from home, on one of her visits to her children, she wrote home to her husband Nathaniel Stewart Collins. He rode to town on a bicycle to pick up the mail, and because he suffered from asthma, when he returned home, he went to bed with the malady and died. Nathaniel Stewart Collins, Elizabeth Ann's husband, was the son of Jesse & Polly Ann Howard Collins. Nathaniel was born May 19, 1845 in Powell, Tennessee, Green County. He died August 22, 1902, Orlando, Oklahoma, Logan County, Bowcox cemetery. Nathan's personal description was; Black hair and beard, blue eyes, small delicate hands. He wore a full beard."

Elizabeth married Nathaniel Stewart Collins , from Tennessee, died of asthma attack, son of Jesse Lee Collins , Union Soldier in Civil War and Polly Ann "Mary" Howard (Cherokee Indian?), on 15 Mar 1865 in Benton Twp, Polk County, Missouri. Nathaniel was born on 19 May 1845 in Powell, Green, Tennessee. He died on 22 Aug 1902 in Orlando, Logan, Oklahoma. He was buried in Bocox Cemetery, Logan, Oklahoma.

Jessee and his wife left the east and came first to Missouri then to Arkansas it was during the Trail of Tears and Cherokee Indians were being killed. He was afraid for the life of his wife and children. Nathaniel, his son told how his father only traveled at night. During the day they stayed in out of the way places and the children in the wagon with a cover over them so no one would see them along with their mother.

1838 - Cherokee Trail of Tears, Nathaniel's parents and some siblings escaped Tennessee at night
1845 - born in Tennessee, although supposedly his family had left by then???
family moved to Missouri and then Arkansas

"Since John Wesley Brewer's father's name was Jacob Fletcher Brewer, the Fletcher name may be the tie to the Osage since there are those of the Osage who are Fletcher's and they were the descendants of Fletcher's whose pictures were saved in Nancy Bellzona's Pictures.  This is where the skills of survival as to the native culture could have been learned, the hunting, the drying of food, the weaving of baskets and many many other survival skills."

254. NANCY LUCINDA BREWER1,2 (JOHN WESLEY BREWER (Union), JACOB FLETCHER, ISAAC, HOWELL P, HOWELL "DUTCHMAN", GEORGE G.) was born on 20 Nov 1848 in Hopkins County, Kentucky. She died on 24 Mar 1925 in Baxter, Stone County, Missouri. She was buried on 25 Mar 1925 in McCullough Cemetery, Lampe, Stone County, Missouri.
I know she was born in Kentucky.  I guessed Hopkins County.

in 1900 census it says that she had 9 children and only 7 were still living.  who were the other 2?

Nancy's father died in the Civil War of small pox when she was 14 years old.  My understanding is that they were living in Missouri at the time.  Her grandmother Edeith Crocker Brewer and her uncle's 2nd wife Maranda Clark Brewer's father went to fetch him home, where he died in Benton Twp, Polk County, Missouri in Aug of 1863.  This must have been a very sad time for her and her family.  After he died, the family evidently moved to Douglas County, Kansas since Mary America Hunter Brewer and her children can be found there in the 1865 Kansas census.  Then they were headed by covered wagon back to Missouri when Henry Lightle met them when he was out riding his horse in the area.  They were soon married.

===
possible reason that nancy lucinda brewer and her mother ended up in kansas for while during civil war times
"Several small battles and skirmishes took place in Polk County.  On February 8, 1862, Union tropps entered Bolivar to capture any rebel soldiers who were hiding in the city.  This day became known as the 'Affair at Bolivar.'... Finally, on August 28, 1864, Polk County was the site of a Union attack on Conferate Captain Pace, who was killed in the skirmish.  As with many areas in the country, the Civil War had devastating effects on Polk County.  Many homes were burned and destroyed; crops and livestock were stolen or killed and burned.  After the war, many lawsuits were leveled against the 'rebels of Polk County' who continued livestock thefts and other unlawful behavior after the war os over, in hopes of some kind of repayment for losses."
http://www.ozarkscivilwar.org/regions/polk

also could have been because after the bushwacker raid and destruction of Lawrence, Kansas, the union side ordered evacuation of 4 counties along the western border of Missouri and then burned homes etc.  the southernmost part of this was part of Vernon County which is near Polk County.  News would have undoubtedly spread to Polk County about this and maybe they, like others from those 4 counties, fled to relative safety in Kansas east of the border area.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Order_No._11_(1863)

When the Civil War began, Polk County citizens were caught in the middle: some supported President Lincoln and looked to him to defend the Union from the secessionists, some allied with Governor Claiborne Jackson, who sought to defend the state of Missouri from the Union and join the Confederacy.

Polk County residents were part of several military regiments. In June, 1861, the Polk County Regiment Home Guard formed to protect Polk County residents from both Union and Confederate armies. In December of the same year, the 8th regiment, State Militia Cavalry formed in an effort to keep communications between Springfield and Rolla open. Polk County residents were also members of the 15th regiment, U.S. Reserve Corps, who were stationed in Jefferson City to protect the railroad. The 26th Regiment, Enrolled Missouri Militia formed in July, 1862, to help control guerrilla warfare. Finally, the 15th Missouri Cavalry formed in November of 1863 to control the bushwhackers.

Several small battles and skirmishes took place in Polk County. On February 8, 1862, Union troops entered Bolivar to capture any rebel soldiers who were hiding in the city. This day became known as the “Affair at Bolivar.” On March 26, 1862, a small and brief battle took place near Humansville. Finally, on August 28, 1864, Polk County was the site of a Union attack on Confederate Captain Pace, who was killed in the skirmish.

As with many areas of the country, the Civil War had devastating effects on Polk County. Many homes were burned and destroyed; crops and livestock were stolen or killed and burned. After the war, many lawsuits were leveled against the “rebels of Polk County” who continued livestock thefts and other unlawful behavior after the war was over, in hopes of some kind of repayment for losses.

My sister Peg says that Nancy is of German and French descent.  She is listed living with her parents in the 1850 Shelby County, Illinois and 1860 Polk County, Missouri census records. In 1870, Nancy's mother America is listed living with her unmarried children still in Polk County, Missouri.

Nancy's death certificate shows her name as Nancy Lucinda Lytle, born in Ohio. Nancy died of old age and kidney trouble at age 76 as a widow of Henry Lytle and was buried 25 March 1925 in McCullough Cemetery.

In 1910, Nancy is shown to have been living with her son John Jacob Lightle in Stone County, Missouri for some reason even though her husband was still living.  Maybe she was just there visiting and got counted in the census anyway?

according to Susie Lightle Beth, Nancy Lucinda Brewer and General Lee (Robert Edward Lee 1807-1870?) are first cousins, but I can't figure that out.  That would mean they share the same grandparents, so that doesn't make sense.  General Lee's parents are Henry Lee III and Ann Hill Carter.  His grandparents were Henry Lee II and Lucy Grymes.

NANCY married3 HENRY LIGHTLE (Union Soldier)4, son of JOHN LIGHTLE (farmer) and SUSIE GREGG, on 17 Oct 1865 in Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas. HENRY was born on 19 Jun 1844 in Ross County, Ohio. He died5 on 11 Mar 1920 in Baxter, Stone County, Missouri. He was buried in Mar 1920 in McCullough Cemetery, Lampe, Stone County, Missouri.
HENRY served in the military in 1862/1865 in Kansas / Missouri border.

Civil War notes -  For the most part the family had supported the Union cause, Henry Lightle fought for the north as did John Wesley Brewer, Henry Lightle's father-in-law.  In fact John Wesley Brewer died of disease during the war as a result of his efforts.  Nancy Lucinda Brewer Lightle's sister Hulda Angeline Brewer, though, married a Confederate named Eli Freeman who had been captured during the war in Louisiana.  Eli was also the father of William Henry Lightle's 2nd wife Lucy Jane Freeman.  So there was some Conferate influence in the family after the war.  I have to wonder if this caused any strife.  The Civil War was notorious for pitting brother against brother, neighbor against neighbor as various people in the communities throughout the north and the south supported opposing sides.

info from Peg: they had a nice home across the White River from where Walter Isaac Britton was born which was Golden, Barry, Missouri.  So that would mean that they lived on the north side of the river at that time, (near Baxter I think) and the Brittons were on the south side.  This is probably how his daughter Elizabeth Aletha Lightle met William Isaac Britton, because they lived near each other.  William Isaac Britton's mother died there in Williams Twp, Stone, Missouri and is buried in the McCullough Cemetery like several of the Lightles were.  The Lightles also sometimes lived in Carroll County, Arkansas which was on the south side of the river.

Mustered out - w/ regiment 30 Jun 1865 [in Little Rock, Arkansas, family records say he was discharged July 1865 and an alternate date I've seen is 3 Jun 1865]

His captain, Nick L Benter, was assassinated and robbed, shot thru the heart in 1864 in camp and found the next morning.  He had been involved in planning an attack on Quantrill, a Confederate querrilla leader, 3 miles south of Paola, Kansas the year before and I wonder if his murder was in consequence of that.  The James and Younger brothers might have been there, since they had joined Quantrill by 1862.  Also in his group was a William H. Gregg.  I wonder if he was any relation to Henry Lightle's grandmother's second husband Jacob Gregg.  William Quantrill led a Confederate bushwacker unit along the Kansas/Missouri border in the early 1860s which included the famous raid and sacking of Lawrence, Kansas in 21 Aug 1863 (near where Nancy Lucinda Brewer and her mother Mary America Brewer lived in 1865, not sure if they lived there in 1863, probably not since her father died in aug 1863 and they were still in Missouri then.  Lawrence mostly burned in the raid and the guerrilla fighters killed 183 men and boys who were old enough to carry a gun age 14-90 then in retaliation union side ordered many residents of western missouri to evacuate then burned their homes and shot livestock and planted crops and confisgated grain/hay storage to be used by the union soldiers, so the guerilla fighters could not use them for food or lodging.  many were left distitute. see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Order_No._11_(1863) I wonder if this effected the Gregg family, Henry Lightle's grandmother and her 2nd husband.  Probably as they had been living in Cass County which was one of the ones effected.).  He was later in Kentucky where he was mortally wounded in a Union ambush in 1865.  He died at the age of 27, although some believe he survived and escaped to South America and years later ended up in British Columbia.  When word got out, several men from the south came there and beat him severely.  He died hours later of his injuries.  The murder case remained unsolved.  (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Quantrill )

I've added Baxter to the already known Stone County as a place of death because of the Civil War Pension record that states he died there.  A descendant says he died in Viola, Stone, Missouri.

---

alternate given name: William Henry

---

Just noticed that Mahulda "Hulda" Hunter (Mary America Hunter Brewer's sister)'s husband William Clark was also born in Ross County, Ohio about 40 years earlier than Henry Lightle was.  I hadn't realized that both families traced to that area, by marriage at least.

---

According to my grandmother Ellen Lovicy Waters Britton, Henry was of English or Irish decent.  He ran away to join the army during the Civil War before he was old enough and became a member of the 12th Kansas Infantry, Company C, fighting on the Union side.  the 12th Kansas Volunteer Infantry was recruited from Wyandotte, Johnson, Douglas, Miami, Franklin, Coffey, Allen, Linn, and Bourbon Counties in Kansas.  These are near the Kansas/Missouri border.  Henry had been living in nearby Cass County, Missouri if I found the right Henry Lightle on the census record.  He enlisted May 1862 in Paola, Douglas, Kansas and was discharged July 1865. (or 3 Jun 1865 in Little Rock, Pulaski, Arkansas). Later on, he was riding horseback and ran into the Brewer family and that is how he met his future bride Nancy Lucinda Brewer.  His granddaughter, Nancy Catherine "Nina" Britton wrote that he could have inherited a large sum, but he and his wife Nancy Lucinda Brewer decided not to take it.  For some reason of other he wouldn't have anything to do with "the family" (his parents or Nancy's?).  After talking it over, they decided they would rather teach their children to work for what they got than to raise them as rich kids.  I don't know for sure where they inheritance would have been from, but my suspicion would be that it was from Nancy's side of the family since the Brewers owned 1000s of acres of land (I think that was in Missouri).

Henry and Nancy sold 80 acres in Polk County, Missouri to her mother America Brewer in 1868.  At this time Henry and Nancy were living in Stone County, Missouri.

Census record found: 1870 Stone County Missouri
Lytle, Henry Age 24, Value of Real Estate $300, Personal Property $100, Born Ohio
-- Nancy Age 22, Keeping House Born KY
-- Malinda Age 2, At Home Born MO

Marriage date might have been 17 Oct 1865 rather than 1867.  If so, their marriage was performed by Horace Tucker, JP.  See http://skyways.lib.ks.us/genweb/archives/douglas/marriage/marr1865.htm  I had thought that they were married the same but in 1867.  I guess I was wrong.

In 1850 and 1860, there was a Henry Lightle living with Jacob and Abigail Gregg.  He was 2 years younger than he should have been, although if he later lied about his age and joined the Civil War cause before he was old enough, maybe the birth date we have is based on that.  This Jacob Gregg (born in about 1806 in Ohio) and Abigail (Cozad?) (born in about 1791 or 1800 in Virginia or 1795/6 in Upshur, West Virginia, daughter of Reverend Job Cozad ( a Methodist minister born 16 Aug 1769 in Frankfort Twp, Sussex, New Jersey and lived in Buckhannan, Upshure, Wester Virginia  where he married Catharine Fink in about 1790, also lived about 1800 in Ross County, Ohio, served in the War of 1812 as did his sons Henry and Daiel and were surrendered by General Hull at Fort Detroit 16 Aug 1812, lived ater 1812 in Viton, Ohio, died of "Cold Plague" while preaching on his circiut in 1815 near McArthur, Vinton, Ohio.)   and Catharine Fink) were likely relations of Henry Lightle's but not his parents.  According to "Ancestors of Cordelia Artemia Lightle" as found at http://www.hansenhome.us/familyhistory/crain/ui17.htm#a15 Before Abigail Cozad married Jacob Gregg, she was married to a John Lightle (born about 1790 in Allensville, Vinton, Ohio and died bef 1823 in Ross County, Ohio.  They were married 4 Aug 1809 in Ross County, Ohio.  They had several children, one of which was a John Lightle (who might have been born in Tennessee).  This could have been Henry's father.  This Henry Lightle married Susie.  This would mean that the Jacob and Abigail he was living with in 1850 and 1860 were his grandmother and step-grandfather.

Civil War Notes -

For the most part the Lightle and Brewer families supported the Union cause.  Henry Lightle fought for the north as did John Wesley Brewer, Henry Lightle's father-in-law.  In fact John Wesley Brewer died of disease during the war as a result.  Nancy Lucinda Brewer Lightle's sister Hulda Angeline Brewer, though, married a Confederate named Eli Freeman who had fought in the Arkansas 14th Infantry and was captured during the war in Louisiana.  Eli was also the father of William Henry Lightle's 2nd wife Lucy Jane Freeman.  So there was some Confederate influence in the family after the war.  I have to wonder if this caused any strife.  The Civil War was notorious for pitting brother against brother and neighbor against neighbor as various people in the communities throughout the north and the south supported opposing sides.

Lightle Family Residences -

Henry's Lightle ancestors are believed to have been Irish and came to Virginia in the 1700s.  His grandmother's ancestors, the Cozad family, came to the New Amsterdam colony (now New York City) in 1662. They were from Holland, and from France before that, and were members of the Dutch Reformed Church.  Nancy Lucinda Brewer's ancestors came from England before 1616 to Jamestown, Virginia.  Henry Lightle was born in Ross County, Ohio but soon went to live with his grandmother who moved to Cass County, Missouri.  Before he was of age he ran off and joined the Union cause in Kansas during the Civil War, just across the Missouri/Kansas border.  After he was discharged he met and married Nancy Lucinda Brewer in Kansas.  Nancy was born in Kentucky and raised in Polk County, Missouri and had moved to Kansas during the war as many people in the area did for their own safety.  They then moved to the Baxter, Williams Township, Stone County, Missouri area where they spent much of their lives.  They sometimes also lived back in Kansas in the Belleville area in Republic County and also just south of Stone County, Missouri near Berryville, Polo Township, Carroll County, Arkansas.  They were living back near Baxter when they died.  Some of the children stayed in Missouri and Arkansas and others moved to Washington and lived out their lives in the Spokane and Seattle areas.  Henry Lightle also spent a short time in Washington with one of their grown children because he was able to get a job there.  Henry and Nancy were apart several times as he lived where needed to find work.

They had the following children.
327 F i. Sarah "Lindy" Malinda Lightle - midwife6 was born in Dec 1868 in , Polk or Stone County, Missouri. She died on 27 Jun 1938 in Spokane, Spokane County, Washington. She was buried on 29 Jun 1938 in Fairmount Memorial Park, Spokane, Spokane County, Washington.

Sarah also married John Cox - might be the brother of her first husband in 1900/1938 in Missouri, Montana, or Washington.
This could be William Cox's brother.  Death record for Sarah Mailinda still shows her last name as Cox, and that her husband's name was John, thus I assume that her husband's name was John Cox.

Kathy said:  I already am positive that the square house was Ike and Liz's, and later Walt and Minnie's.  Therefore, that is the house where Liz died.  She told Nina to open the door (probably the back door) because she couldn't get enough air.

Grandma said Liz had the same nice personality as Cub later did, like twins.  "Your grandpa was as much like his mother as a man could be like a woman ancestors.  He even looked like her."

Past family records state that she was born 2 Feb 1874 in Jamestown, Kansas.  Another alternate birth date is the 27th, but her headstone says the 28th.

Notes from Peg:
Timeline:
1) Born in Kansas 1874
2) Moved to Missouri (Stone County likely) somewhere in her childhood. Have to figure this out, as some of her siblings are born in Missouri, and some born in Kansas.
3) Married William Isaac Britton in 1893
4) Lived in Stone County Missouri, until 1910
5) One month after Homer Everett's birth in 1910, the family moved to Washington.
6) 1919 family moved 5 miles north of Andrix Colorado, to daughter Nora Britton's homestead.
7) When did they move from Andrix Colorado to Kim Colorado?
8) 1932, death at Kim Colorado

Buried in the Kim Cemetery.  White River Twp is the assumed area near Golden, where he was born since that's the twp they were in by 1880

married in Carroll County, Arkansas, as many from Stone County, Missouri were.  I added Berryville as the town because that's where the marriage record was filed.  the record states that both of them lived at Baxter, Stone, Missouri

tall, medium build, blue eyes, brown hair (from WWI Draft Registration Card)

he had been living in Carroll County, Arkansas, but when his wife Lucy died they were living 4 miles SW of Crane, Stone, Missouri which would have put them across the line into Barry County.  She died across in Barry County so that might have been where their farm was at that time.  Since she died only about 5 or 6 yrs before he did, he might have died in Barry County near Crane, Stone, Missouri as well.  I can't access his death certificate online because he died after the cut off of what is on the Missouri gov't website.

His second wife, Lucy Jane Freeman, was his first cousin.

1870 - residence, with widowed mother Mary America Brewer near Bolivar in Benton Twp, Polk County, Missouri, farmer, could not read or write, 19 yrs old, born in Illinois, owned no land, mother had only $200 of assets.  So I take that to mean that the Civil War had pretty much ruined them financially, plus we have to remember that his father had died in the war of small pox, so he was no longer alive to provide for them.

256. Hulda Angeline Brewer (JOHN WESLEY BREWER (Union), JACOB FLETCHER, ISAAC, HOWELL P, HOWELL "DUTCHMAN", GEORGE G.) was born on 6 Sep 1851 in Wakefield, Shelby County, Illinois. She died on 28 Aug 1930 in Carroll County, Arkansas. She was buried in Williams North Cemetery, Williams, Carroll County, Arkansas.
1900 and 1910 census for Hulda say that she had 6 children, and 3 living. The children living with her on those census are Mary A (step daughter), Henry E and Lucy J so she must have had 3 other children who had died previously.  This also makes sense since her first child I have listed here was born 15 years after she got married!

birth and death dates are from her headstone

Likely named after her mother's sister Mahulda "Hulda" Hunter

Hulda married Eli Freeman , Confederate Soldier, son of William Freeman and Louama Young, on 23 Dec 1875 in Boone County, Arkansas. Eli was born on 22 Dec 1841 in Arkansas. He died on 21 Feb 1905 in Carroll County, Arkansas. He was buried in Williams North Cemetery, Williams, Carroll County, Arkansas.
NFS has Washington Brewer and Mary Alice Brewer as being his son with Hulda Angeline rather than Rhoda as I think should be.

info from census:
parents were from Tennessee.

info from Peggy:

Eli was a confederate soldier in civil war and was captured at Port Hudson, Louisiana.

Eli looks to be in the Civil War (see http://www.itd.nps.gov/cwss/soldiers.htm):

This command was captured at Port Hudson on July 9. After being exchanged, the 14th was not reorganized. Its commanders were Colonels Eli Dodson, M. C. Mitchell, and Frank P. S Bishop and I feel that Washington and Mary A are of Eli's first marriage, if there is one. I found a website that looks most interesting for who is likely his first wife. It lists Washington Freeman too.

Peggy found what I suspect is our Eli Freeman (re: Angeline Brewer) in the 1850 and 1860 census. Suggests the similar information of the above website by R Owens.

The 1880 census for Mary A says that her mother was born in Tennessee. This one
shows that her mother was born in Arkansas. Note that Mary A shows as a sister to Henry, which she is. However, the mother's birth place is not Hulda's birth place, which suggests that Hulda isn't her mother. Thus that Henry E and Mary A are 1/2 siblings, which we suspect.

Henry married Mrs. Frances A. Freeman about 1915 in of, Stone, Missouri, USA.
339 F ii. Lucy Jane Freeman - 1st cousins, born in Arkansas, father Confederate17 was born on 8 Aug 1892 in , Carroll, Arkansas. She died on 4 Mar 1960 in Barry County, Missouri near Crane, Stone, Missouri. She was buried on 10 Mar 1960 in McCullough Cemetery, Lampe, Stone, Missouri.
middle name might have been after her father's first wife

death certificate says middle name is Jane, lived 4 miles southwest of Crane, Missouri.  Crane is in Stone County, but their farms was evidentally just across the line into Barry County.  Shows birth place as Carroll County, Arkansas and parents as Eli Freeman and Angeline Brewer.
http://www.sos.mo.gov/images/archives/deathcerts/1960/1960_00009799.PDF

Lucy married William Henry Lightle - farmer16, son of HENRY LIGHTLE (Union Soldier) and NANCY LUCINDA BREWER, on 22 Apr 1910 in Neosho, Newton, Missouri (W.A. Phipps - probate judge). William was born on 15 Jan 1880 in Polo Twp, Carroll County, Arkansas. He died on 13 Jul 1966 in Barry County, Missouri near Crane, Stone County, Missouri. He was buried in Jul 1966 in McCullough Cemetery, Lampe, Stone County, Missouri.
tall, medium build, blue eyes, brown hair (from WWI Draft Registration Card)

he had been living in Carroll County, Arkansas, but when his wife Lucy died they were living 4 miles SW of Crane, Stone, Missouri which would have put them across the line into Barry County.  She died across in Barry County so that might have been where their farm was at that time.  Since she died only about 5 or 6 yrs before he did, he might have died in Barry County near Crane, Stone, Missouri as well.  I can't access his death certificate online because he died after the cut off of what is on the Missouri gov't website.

first wife (divorced) not shown on NFS so i found her and combined records.  hopefully its right.  it showed her married to Will H Lightle.

His second wife, Lucy Jane Freeman, was his first cousin.

1880: with parents in Polo Twp, Carroll, Arkansas, 5 months old.  I knew he was born in Arkansas.  From this census when he was a baby, I assume that he was born in Polo Twp.

1910: born abt 1880 in Arkansas, farmer on Berryville or Baxter Road in Polo Twp, Carroll County, Arkansas, parents born in Ohio and Kentucky, divorced and living alone.  Who was his first wife?  I found a marriage record on ancestry.com for a W H Lightle of Stone County, Missouri and a Lilliam M. Rhodes of Stone County dated 26 July 1901 in Stone County.  Might this have been her?  Believed to have divorced between 1902 and 1906.  Lilly remarried to Nathen Perryman in about 1906 and they lived in Lynn Lane, Tulsa, Oklahoma by 1910 and she lives with her son Hobert Lightle at Fort Smith, Sebastian, Arkansas in 1920 and in Tulsa with Hobert in 1930.

Death Certificate states that her name was Eda Artimiss Allen Boykin, father - John W Brewer from Illinois, mother - America Hunter from Kentucky, born 24 Mar 1853 in Buffalo, Missouri (Buffalo is actually in Dallas County, adjacent to Polk County, right by Benton Twp, so is probably just where her birth was registers or else the nearest town to where they lived. Bolivar is just to the west.  Death - 21 July 1941 in Weatherford, Parker County, Texas of Hypostatic Pnuemonia at the age of 88.  Informant was J W Boykin, probably her husband since she was listed as married rather than widowed.  Burial - 22 July 1941 at Dilbeck Cemetery (Peaster, Parker County, Texas).  Residence at time of death was 311 Franklin Street, Weatherford, Texas.  https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-266-11821-10918-50?cc=1320964&wc=13012554

258 M vii. John Wesley Brewer Jr was born in 1856 in Benton Twp, Polk County, Missouri. He died after 1910 in Last known residence - Texola, Beckham County, Oklahoma.

I am making the assumption from his middle initial being W. that his middle name was Wesley like his father.

1860: near Halfway, Polk, Missouri with his parents and siblings, born in about 1855 in Missouri
1870: Benton Twp, Polk, Missouri with his mother (father dead) and siblings, born in about 1855 in Missouri, post office Bolivar.  23 yr old Middleton Brewer is living with them but evidentally was not a sibling.  He was born in about 1847 in Illinois.

John married Margaret Lucinda Light in 1883 in Parker County, Texas. Margaret was born about 1858 in Kentucky. She died after 1910 in Last known residence - Texola, Beckham County, Oklahoma.

Cora and Jess are my Great Grandparents, who raised my mother also named Cora. I spent a lot of my youth with them on their farm in Garfield, NM. Cora, my Great Grandmother, died 1970 in El Paso, I was with her. Jess my grandfather died on their farm in Garfield in 1967. I named my youngest son after him - Jesse Austin. They both have had a major impact on my life that increases the older I become.
