Junius Taylor Brewer is descended from William Brewer, a brother of the George Brewer who married Sarah Lanier. Therefore, he is from a different branch of our tree, as most of the Brewers on this site descend directly from George. Junius' family remained in Virginia for many years longer than some of the others. 

He was born in Southampton County, Virginia 27 Aug 1852 to William E. Brewer (who later served in the Confederate Army) and Mary Bradshaw. Note that his family was from Isle of Wight County, from which Southampton County was formed (on the west side of the Blackwater River) in 1749. Junius married Mary Anna Turner 25 Mar 1883. A photo of her can be found here ➚. She was the daughter of Goodwyn A. Turner and Nancy Watkins Gardner, and was born 9 May 1861 in Southampton County. Her father was a farmer and also a Confederate soldier in Company G of Virginia's 61st Infantry Regiment. He died 1 Jun 1863 when Mary Ann was only two years old, so she probably had no clear memory of him. His passing occurred only about a month after his discharge, so it is possible he died of disease or complications from an injury, but I haven't checked into the records to see. Junius was a farmer by trade as well, and spent most, if not all, of his live in Southampton County, Virginia. He died 3 Nov 1928. Mary Ann lived about 10 more years, passing away 31 Mar 1939.
